warning sounds

How can i stop warning sounds, when i play a DVD with
power DVD my cable modem keep clicking on and off so i
get the dissconect hardware sound playing constantly
witch is very annoying when trying to watch a movie, can
anyone tell me how to stop this warning sound playing.

iF you go to control panel> sounds and audio devices>
SOUNDS, YOU CAN EDIT WARNING SOUNDS FROM THERE

plugged into? the wall or a surge protector? are your feet ever touching
the power cables?

I built the computer myself, modem is on USB, monitor is
on graphics card, I don't use a surge protector and I
don't put my feet on the power cables.
But my Modem is always connecting and diconnecting at the
port for some reson????
