Awehile back, someone asked for recommendations for streaming media,
and I suggested an app called BOOMBox Radio Player. Well, I wasn't
aware of it at the time, but apparently it's now being flagged as
spyware by AdAware. So if you downloaded BOOMBox Radio Player at my
(or someone else's) recommendation, you should probably download
AdAware and use the latest definition to clean the spyware off. (On a
plus side, if you wish to keep using hte program, it appears to be
functional even after the removal of the spyware.)

My apologies for originally recommending thise piece of software.

Hi dkg_ctc,

That was in response to a request by me. After downloading BOOMbox
Radio Player and reading the EULA, it seemed they wanted (at their
discretion) the option to monitor non-personal feedback from the
application's use. After reading that, I decided against using it,
although it seems like a good application. Additonally, I could never
get the Shoutcast Lister plugin's to work with Quintessional Player or
Winamp 2.8. Just kept getting a 'Bad XML error', and decided "Oh
well, never mind."
Thanks for posting the new information about BOOMBox and AdAware!

Regards,
Joe

Excuse me, please. That should be "Additionally, I could never get
the Shoutcast Lister plugin's to work with Quintessential Player or
Winamp 2.8."

Joe :o)

Hmm...tried SCLister on QCD Player again, and it works fine...
*shrugs* A couple other suggestions, if you're still looing:

- ShoutAmp General Purpose Plug-In (available at
http://classic.winamp.com/plugins/detail.jhtml?componentId=68405 )
which I believe works in Winamp2 and 5 (not sure about 3).
It should be pointed out, though, that this is made by the
same person who coded SCLister for Winamp and QCD, so if you were
having problems with those, you may encounter the same problem with
this one.

- Some of the recent Winamp5 release candidates have a Shoutcast
lister built in. It's located in the Media Library component, so you
will have to install that one with Winamp (it comes in the install).
However, there seems to be a conflict with some plugins (SCLister and
ShoutAmp General Purpose Plug-in included) where when you bring up
those windows, the Media Library also pops up. However, if you aren't
going to use either of those plugins, everything should work ok.

No problem, Joe. :)

Probably should have included a link to where you can find WA5:

I downloaded the above and it worked. I also installed SCLister
Plugin for Winamp, again. This time I exited "proxomitron" and
changed back to the default internet connection settings. Upon
starting Winamp, SCLister immediately did its thing! Thought I tried
a direct connection before. Oh well, I'm not that computer literate,
anyhow. :o)

Thanks again!
