I have no browser/e-mail access at all. I have windows XP
pro. I can ping my IP so I am connected to my IP. My IP is
telling me Internet Explorer has become corrupt and needs
to be repaired or re-installed. I can not un-install I.E.
using add/remove programs. INF file missing. Obviously, I
am making this request from a different computer. I tried
re-installing XP last night with no luck. Please help!

Also a quick note, just because you can ping yourself does not mean
you have access to any network or internet resources. You can remove
the network cable and still ping yourself. To test outbound access
you need to ping some downstream of you. A good place to start
wouldbe your gateway. If you can ping your gateway you should have
access to the internet.

I'm sure he means his ISP rather than his own IP address.
