Warning! Network Driver Updates Disrupt Connectivity

I recently downloaded Microsoft's driver updates for
Realtek and Cisco/Linksys network cards, one for my
wireless laptop and the other for my desktop.

I would suggest that Microsoft prepare its updates more
carefully in the future. With all the problems with
viruses, the last thing that I need is Microsoft screwing
up my computers even more.

Neither driver update worked, stopped all network
communications and has cost me hours trying to restore my
computers' ability to network.

There must be other people out there experiencing the
same problem.
 
Same problem, different driver--It was a VIA network
adapter--- see my post 11/20/03
