On a particular home page when opening the page to add
more items to our picture slide show the following error
appeared.

The contents of a frontpage component have been
modified. These contents will be overwritten when you
save this page.

This default page has never done this before prior to
today

This message appears when FrontPage detects that:
o A change elsewhere in your Web should affect the
current page.
o The current page doesn't yet reflect that change,
but will, the next time you save it.
Suppose, for example, you added a page to your Web and
then opened a page that contains a Table Of Contents
component. The message informs you that FrontPage will
update the table Of Contents when you save the page.

In short, this message is usually just informative and
doesn't indicate a problem.
