Hi all,

I asked this before and I am still having trouble with it. I just need,
each value seperatly, a custom number format of x.xx, Anything other
than this format will produce a warning message box alerting the user
of the incorrect format. EX. xx.x or xxx. Can anyone help me?
Or what other options do i have, it is basically to prevent user error
on the data entry.
Thanks in advance!

You can try using the Right function to check to see that a decimal
point is in the proper place.

slagg,
Not only did you ask this before, you asked it within the last few days and
got a lot of good suggestions as to what to do. No matter how many times you
ask this, the answer will always be the same. Access CANNOT read the mind of
a person entering data, which is what you seem to wan it to do. It can only
do what the developer tells it to do as far as data validation. It can force
the user to enter data in a certain format or within a range of values.
These newsgroups/forums are scanned by people who push Access to its limits
and have collectively centuries of Access experieince amongst them. Please
accept that the answers that you get on this board are THE ANSWERS.
Bob

Thanks for pointing out the very obvious. Ok, so you mean to tell me in
all your centuries of access experience that there is no positive way
for Access to force a user to enter data in this format x.xx? You
answered my question, but gave me nothing on HOW to do it..."... It can
only
do what the developer tells it to do as far as data validation. It can force
the user to enter data in a certain format or within a range of values."
That, is exactly what I need done. Does anyone know how to do this?

OK BOB. After all your centuries of Access knowledge, I figured it out!
Anyone else who ever needs to do this, just enter a valadation rule of
like"x.xx"
Works like a charm!
Thanks all!

OK SLAGg, I didn't claim to have centuries of Access knowledge. I stated
that the people who answered your questions have centuries of Access
knowledge. Your amazing discovery that you "figured out" is what others told
you in your previous post thread. Your problem was that they didn't give you
the answer you wanted so you couldn't see it.
I don't know why anyone would want to help you in the future because of the
way you dismiss people who try to help. Maybe you should be introduced to PC
Datasheet! (Inside joke)

Bob,
I did not dismiss anyone....you dismissed me. You did not offer any
help of any kind, but just went on a rant. I did thank EVERYONE who
offered suggestions...each and every time! Next time Bob, rather than
being overly critical, just help. If you cannot help, don't reply.
Like I said, I figured it out, and got exaclty what I needed. If I
wanted to read a rant post, I would have signed up for the Dennis
Miller forum...
