wanting to know how to lighten a picture that i put in background, on MS
front page. wanted to make it lighter so i could see other things on the page.

Open it in your favorite Graphics editor and lighten it there, Then
import the changed picture to FP.

You would do this in a image editor application.

I thought of Irfanview also, but then thought not.

I constantly use Irfanview for optmising images, but where in the menu is
the option to lighten an image?

Because I didn't know that option was there, I use my usual image editor to
do this - MicroSoft Picture It! which works fine.
