Someone to print out large pdfs and text files for a fee payed via
paypal. a thousand pages or so, could be a regular deal. Post offers
here. Thanks ! Don't know if this is ok to post here but I don't know
where else. Inkjet printers are costly for this kind of printing and I
can't afford a laser printer.

You're better off going to the local copy shop. If by "large PDFs"
you mean printing out e-books and the like, copy shops near
universities do that all the time as more and more profs are putting
their course notes into digital files. In one course I took a couple
of years back, the prof got permission to put an out of print book on
PDF for us to use as our text. Getting a copyshop to do it will be a
whole lot cheaper and easier than doing it yourself or getting a
private party to do it and ship it to you. The shipping itself will
be rediculous, as two reams of paper is fairly heavy (especially in
Canada, as Canada Post does not have a special class for printed
materials).

This will be a whole lot cheaper than printing it yourself or
convincing a private party to crank it out for you and mailing it to
you. Such copy shops usually charge you 3cents a sheet (same as
photocopying) for black and white prints (about $30 for what you
propose). Some shops require you to have a letter from the copyright
holder (in the case of notes, it's the prof) saying you have
permission, but it doesn't take much to find a shop that doesn't ask
questions. They can usually do binding for about $5-10 depending on
what they offer, which makes it a whole lot more convenient than
punching the holes by hand and slipping them in a 3ring binder.

You just drop off the file on a floppy or CDR and come back in an hour
to pick it up and pay for it.

You need to do your own legwork on this though. Start with a phone
book if you don't know of any in your area.

I think any good print house can handle your order more much more
economically than anyone here. I doubt any of us want the wear,
tear and trouble involved with such a large project on a regular basis.

You said inkjets are expensive. Yes, if you're using genuine cartridges.
However, if you refill with bulk inks your cost is about $1.00 per
cartridge. The new (current) Canon line of printers uses chipped
cartridges, unlike my older series. Refilling chipped cartridges is not
the problem. The problem is that there is no way (yet) to reset the
chip, so you will be operating without the ink monitor. And running on
empty, and not knowing it, can burn out the printhead. Not a good
idea. But investigate refilling as an alternative.
