I recently found UK's Kalendar, and it's the freeware program I've been
looking for ever since I tried the shareware progs Calendarscope,
Windates and Remind-Me.
Description from the homepage -
"UK's Kalender" is a MS Windows program intended to remind you of
upcoming events and to dos. There are several views for your dates that
are organized similar to a calendar sheet. Dates and appointments can be
entered into the calendar via an input form. You can enter a forewarn
time, so as long as "UK's Kalender" is running in the background you'll
be reminded of your dates as soon as the forewarn time is reached.
Independent from the calendar function there is also a to do list where
you can enter tasks with a deadline and a forewarn time. If the forewarn
time is reached, "UK's Kalender" will inform you of the due tasks with
symbols and colors.
The program was tested under the MS Windows versions 98SE and 2000.
If you decide to try it make sure you read the manual and become aware of
its extra configuration options via command-line arguments termed "system
variables" that can be manually entered in the configuration tabs. With
a bit of experimentation you can get date formats, window headings, and
even tool-tips, etc. just the way you want them. I'm sure glad I didn't
throw it away without giving it a bit more attention. It's great! And
it will be even better if the author implements my suggestions when I
send them!
