Hi,

After the holidays, I decided to change my wallpaper, and find that
the Display|desktop tab is missing from Display. All the other tabs
are present. It was there a few weeks ago when I put in my Christmas
background.

While I can change the wallpaper by other means, that is where the box
is which allows you to select whether the image is centered, tiled, or
stretched. WINXP Home Edition

I have also run into the same problem with XP professional. I have searched the manuals and looked through the group edit options and still not found an answer. If you have found anything or if anyone out there can help I have reached wits end

Thanks.

Since I posted, I found a fix. Go to

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

and search down for "Restore All Display Tabs" in the second column.
It is opposite #285 in the first column. It is a registry patch.
Just merge it, and all your missing tabs will be back.

Interesting that this is a common enough problem that there is a fix
available.

Thanks one and all...I am always a bit nervous about fooling around with the registry, detailed instructions were most welcome.

It's unclear what the problem is, or exactly what patch you tried...

Click Kelly's link below, then "C". Scroll to...
"Common Tasks View - Disable or Enable"

Tried that?
