Hello - I have a search engine I use - www.iwon.com. I used to be able to
access it easily. Lately, when I try to go to it, it loads partially, reads
"done" in the lower left corner and has the icon for a restricted site on the
lower right. I went to tools, internet options, security, and it isn't even
listed in the restricted sites list.

I can access it via firefox, but would prefer to use IE.

Any ideas? Thank you -

Actually, I've been using the site for about eight years - it is a safe site.
I have not changed my security software. Any ideas how to get it to show
again?

jsut becuase it was a safe site for a long time, it may become unsafe due
to various reasons including being hacked.

hey, face book was considered safe by many by it still has risks and can
leak personal data as well as being used by some to bait people into
downloading malware

Thank you for your response and your comments. I can open the site on
computers anywhere but at my house - the library, my neighbor's house, etc.
So it just seems odd that I can't open it here.

Don't even get me started on facebook. I can't stand those social sites
like that and myspace...

Lisa, it comes up as a restricted site on mine too.
I use XP Pro SP3, and IE7.

Go to IE>Tools>Internet options>Security>Click on Restricted Sites>Then
click on the "Sites" buttom.
*iwon.com is there!
You did not look too hard.

You can click on it in the list there, and remove it!
Do so at your own risk.

Peter,

Thanks - sure wish it worked here. Works at my neighbor's house, my
library...
Maybe it is just one of those things that will resolve itself.

Are you using a shortcut ? Corrupt ?

You'll have to figure out how that security software works that you
installed on your host. Could be anti-malware, bad sites lists, hosts
file, or other protection programs you installed that decided iwon.com
is not a safe domain. After all, their privacy policy does permit them
to divulge your personal information to whomever they deem is an
affiliate company of theirs to spam you. Have a read at
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/iwon.com. Their intent is to
distribute "prizes" in return for shoving ads in your face and to put
you on mailing lists for more advertisements. Maybe you chose to
install ad-blocking software and that's why you can't see all content on
their web pages. That it displays okay on other hosts means yours has
software running that is restricting behaviors or content from that
site.

Thanks for your help, Mick... I went back to my "restricted sites" section -
it goes right from iwebland.com to excodec.net.

Further down, after the list of ip addresses, it goes from
instlog.winfixer.com to jhzhyj.bigwww.com

and ever further down, www.ixcodec.net to www.jackpot-advertising.info

Since these are alphabetical lists, iwon.com (or www.iwon.com) would show
up, right? I looked several times, as did my husband. We cannot find it.

What am I missing?

Lisa
