Want to share scanner...

Am running XP on a Dell Dimension 8100. Also running XP
on a new Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop. Installed software
for HP printer on laptop and can access it with no
problem. Just installed software for HP scanner on
laptop, but cannot access. Anyone know anything about
sharing hardware? We are connected via a Broadband Router.

Do you have one of the few expensive scanners that allow it?
Sharing scanners is not a feature of Windows XP.

You won't be able to share the scanner and if you want to
share the scanner be prepaired to spend some money.

There is software called RemoteScan that is supposed to do just what you
want. I've never used it, but it might be worth checking out.
