Anyone else having problems with news.wanadoo.co.uk?
No problems accessing msnews.microsoft.com groups and have checked settings
for Wanadoo.

I seem to recall a post from someone recently saying that Wanadoo are
ceasing their News server from 17th March? There's NO mention of a news
server in any of their settings pages on their website.

Thanks for the reply, have also looked on Wanadoo site for a status page but
can't find it.

That's right. From 17th March Wanadoo is no longer a news server. I'm
trying out the following alternative aioe.cjb.net. Seems to be OK at the
moment.
Regards
Bill

Evebtually found this on Wanadoo's site:

"Our Newsgroups service now closed
Article ID: kb6721
From 17th March 2006, we will no longer provide a Usenet/Newsgroups
feed. Although we cannot ourselves recommend an alternative
Usenet/Newsgroups service, the following is a brief list of operators
recommended by newsgroup viewers and contributors:
http://www.giganews.com/
http://www.easynews.com/"

Both of these are paid for services but it was included in the price
from Wanadoo.
This was done without warning and I'm now looking for a UK ISP which
will allow me access to newsgroups, including binaries, any suggestions?

How about BT - they have only just revamped their FREE newsgroup service -
with over 100,000 available.
Good luck.
