Help!

Attention Microsoft support
I have an issue with and SBS 2000 server that displays
the ports for Routing and remote access incorrectly. In
the devices box you can clearly see that the device names
and the device types do not show a correct relationship.
It is as if the links between then have been crossed
about. The result of this is that PPTP and L2TP.
Devices
Routing and remote access
WAN MINI PORT (PPTP)- RAS/Routing - Parrellel -64
WAN MINI PORT (L2TP)- none - PPTP - 32
Intel 8255x-Based ethernet - None - L2TP - 4,294,...
Standard Modem - none - Modem - 1
I have tried to delete the devices and read them from
hardware manager but to no avail the system comes back at
me with "This device cannot be deleted as it is required
to boot the system".
I have tried to run repair and many other similar tools
to set it right but it just want go back to the way it
should be.
I will point out that this happened when the old server
was retired and a tape loaded with the sys vols and sys
state files was restored to the new system. There were
some minor differences between the two sets of hardware
and their were some issues with the gigabit Ethernet card
from netgear. However the system has run very reliably
for 12 months since with the only issue being PPTP and
L2TP. Currently I have a second server providing this
service but would like to remove this second server.
Over the past 12 months I have spoken to many others well
experienced with windows 2000 server but none have ever
had to deal with this issue and I have run out of leads.
Is any one at Microsoft able to help me with resolving
this issue so things can be returned to normal and I can
retrieve my much needed backup/ development PC.
