Some time ago I saved an image from the web as my desktop
wall paper. I have now overwritten that with a new image.
Where do I look on my PC to retrieve the old image?

Sorry, Rory. Once that file is overwritten the old wallpaper is gone. In
the future, right click a picture and use Save Picture As. That will give
you a permanent copy. Then set it up as your wallpaper.
 
Nothing u can do about it this time but check out
symantec go-back so similar things don't happen
