DO NOT BUY ANY OF JOHN WALKENBACH'S 2 Excel 2002 books
(Formulas and Charts). The price of $40.00 is rediculous
to spend, the publisher uses 3rd world paper on the text
and charges as if it is a Microsoft Press release. My
copy of Excel 2002 Formulas is 5 months old and the paper
is so yellow (cheap) I can barely read it. Also there is
no new material in the Charts book that justifies its
purchase.

Signed,

Excel Guru

Each to their own opinion, I have purchased one of johns books (power
programming with VBA 2002) and found it invaluable.
It has saved me more than $40 in wasted time alone!
Keep up the good work John

Hi Excel Guru (yeah, right!):

John Walkenbach has infinitely more credibility than you will ever have,
whoever you are. So don't waste your time trying to bad-mouth his work.

Hope this helps!

Regards,

Vasant.

Since my toilet paper supply is starting to run low,
I would like to know where to buy books by "The Excel Guru"
Besides John's very valuable books, he is an avid FREE contributor in these
ngs.

Hi Michael and others,

Excel Guru is a twit who appears in the group every now and then, purely to
goad responses just like your's. He isn't very original, and has become a
bit of a joke to the regulars. Occasionally he tries different names and
different tacks (for instance, he'll probably have a go at me after this),
but if you ignore him he goes back to his cave.

Regards,
Steve D.

Such persons are known as 'trolls'. Responding to them is generally termed
'feeding the trolls'. It's usually a bad idea to do so.

Dude!

I have many publications published on Excel, all under
pseudo names as to protect my professional actor status.

Personally I think John should be paying the guy!!! In just a few hours he has done more to
elicit a number of good solid testimonials to the quality of John's books than Amazon have <vbg>.
Maybe John could give him a signed copy just for him as a thank you???? :-)

I am new to excel and I couldn't find a book "Excel for Morons". I looked
at several books and decided that John's books were the easiest to
understand. With the help of a few people in this news group and John's
books, I have written some rather complicated workbooks for my company. At
work they think that I am a genius but You and I know the truth. I enjoy
the attention though.
