Waking up a computer on the network

Hello all,

I have the "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby" feature turned on on the NIC of a Win 2000 Pro machine.

How do I wake the machine up from anther computer on the network?

you'll need to know the MAC address of the network card and use a WOL
utility like http://www.gammadyne.com/cmdline.htm#wol

Thanks for your feedback.

Do these 2 computers have to be part of the same domain or workgroup?

Right now the Windows is not part of our domain, but it is connected to our network. When I sent the WOL packet, it said that it
was sent successfully, but the machine did not wake up.

it doesn't matter if they are in the same domain/workgroup or not.
They must be in the same network segment.
