WAIT AND WAIT

When I import videos from my hard drive, I must wait and wait and wait for
the first video to show up my collection as the importing file message
lingers along endlessly. After that others import quickly. Is that normal?
Is there a newer version than 2.1 or are there any patches? Should I remove
the program and then reinstall it? Have Service Pack disk, or I could
download it I see.
Help please. Peter in S.L.C..

No newer version (unless you move to Vista)
and no patches.

Where are you importing from? How long are
you waiting? What size are the files you are
importing? Do you have lots of RAM? Are
any programs running while you are importing?

Chances are you just need to have more patience.

I'm importing from my hard drive or another internal hard drive. I have 1.5
Gigs of RAM. File are 20MB to 80MB in size. Sometimes I will wait up to 5
minutes for them to arrive in Movie Maker. No other programs are running.
