User has a mapped drive from Win2k server. As the day goes by, the connection appears to be lost until user tries a couple more times, then the connection seems to wake up. Any possible reasons for this. Appreciate any direct response.

This is caused by the autodisconnect feature in Windows 2000. The
autodisconnect timer is configurable, see the article above. Other
software on either the client or the Server can aggravate this as well.

If the pc is inactive, Windows will temporarily show
a 'disconnected state' in explorer (red mark next to
mapped icon). I'm not sure how you can force Windows to
keep a mapped drive alive even when the pc is idle.
