As MS recommend you activate the TCP/UDP/IP filters in W2K and install the
patch they have listed don't bother with the filter as it stops you
connecting to your network drives and won't allow network browsing. Instead
just go with the patch they offer for download.

I have a firewall and I downloaded a signature from my AV for
blaster. I guess I am set, then?

For the patch, it says, Windows 2000, not Windows 2000 Professional
(what I have) and it says to download it from "Windows Update". Being
as I am up-to-date at Windows Update, wouldn't downloading this patch
be overkill or even a mistake being as it says it's for Win 2000 and
no mention of Professional?

Thanks,

Cody

Windows 2000 is either
Professional
Server
Advanced Server
DataCenter

if yours is desktop then its professional

Greetings --

The patch has been available on the Windows Update site for almost
a full month, now.
