Hi!

I have SBS 2003 as exchange provider and W2K3 Terminal server as app
machine. When I install BCM it wants to be in cashed mode which is disabled
on TS, also I am reading that there no way to share data with it, can I put
it in public folder?

Thank you,

Not sure about your cached mode problem--runs fine in TS for me.

BCM stores its data in MSDE, so to share its a case of sharing DSN
rather than putting a file in a share. V2 has a lot of support for
sharing DSN; e.g. wizards for connecting users, and its been tested and
so on.

Hi!

BCM needs cashed mode in outlook and TS prohibits it. Not sure how it is
working for you, did you install any special updates, what versions of
software you have?

Thank you,

I can TS to a machine with WinXp Pro, Outlook 11 and BCM v2, and run
BCM in the TS session.

I have all the rec'd software from Windows and Office Update sites.
Apart from that I haven't set anything special. Perhaps it's an issue
with how your Exchange or ISP email is configured, as to whether it'll
support cached mode(?).

Hi!

Now I see, WinXP pro is not TS server, it has Terminal serverice installed,
but if you use Windows 2003 TS, than your cashed mode is disabled.

Thank you,

Steve,

I have exactly the same setup as you and had the same problem.

First challange I had, like you was getting outlook to run in cached
mode. This can be acheived by changing registry settings only, the
option is simply not selectable through the interface.

In:.....

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\<ProfileName>\13dbb0c8aa05101a9bb000aa002fc45a

Change the value of the key 00036601 to 84 01 00 00

That gets cached mode working. You will then notice that even with the
SBS patch installed BCM will still complain about the exchange server.

Version 2 of BCM works however and my users have been running it on TS
2003 with no problems whatsoever.

Let me know if this works for you...

Paulie

Hi!

I found a solution without registry hack and i was laughing for half an
hour. If you login to console you can put any user in cashed mode and voila
it works :)

Thank you for your help
