While installing SP1 on our W2K3 DC, I was asked to replace the DELL Raid
driver. I chose no. Will this have an adverse effect when I restart this
server. The box is DELL Power Edge 2600. It's not on DELL's list of servers
that need hotfix before installing SP1.

Thanks

Probably not. Replace with what? Check the Dell web site. There may be an
updated driver hence the reason you were prompted.

Replace with a Microsoft RAID driver from SP1. Since this DC is also a file
server, I am concerned with rebooting to a blue screen.

Microsoft doesn't do driver development. They get them from the hardware
manufacturers. No, you shouldn't need to be concerned unless you replaced it
and the replacement was incorrect. I think it's always best to decline
Windows Update driver updates. Get them direct from the manufacturer.

Thanks. I'm just slightly paranoid with SP's on a domain controller. I agree
I have stopped using drivers from windows update long ago, because of
problems.

You're welcome.
