W2k3 server can't handle high data traffic

Hello

We have a strange behavior w/ a W2k3 server which is an Exchange
server.
If we send large mails (attachment has 8 MB) from a server in
the same network (switched) the Exchange server stops responding
to the sending server somewhere in the middle of the transport.
The old server (Win2000) had no problems with these mails.
If we send the same mail from another machine and another network
(has to travel via the Internet (VPN), speed is only 1/20) there
is absolute no problem with the mails.
Any ideas what can be wrong w/ the Exchange server? I assume the
traffic is to fast to be be handled by the W2k3 server.

If this is not the right newsgroup, sorry for than. Please tell
me which is the right one.

regards
Joerg

I don't have a direct answer to your problems, but I would start checking my
memory with a mem checker, monitor CPU load and temperature, and then make
sure DMA is set on all devices. It might also be a setting in your LAN, WLAN
hardware. I found that the Transfer set to "auto" is NOT always optimal.

Hello Herbert,

I don't have a direct answer to your problems, but I would start checkingmy
memory with a mem checker, monitor CPU load and temperature, and then make
sure DMA is set on all devices. It might also be a setting in your LAN, WLAN
hardware. I found that the Transfer set to "auto" is NOT always optimal.

They switched the network speed from 1G to 100M at the server.
After this the described problem vanished.

Thanks

Jörg
