Hi, we have an issue with faxing. We can receive files but cannot send
out
anything.

We're using Microsoft Shared Fax on W2K3 standard edition. Every item in
the outbox gets a failed message either busy or no answer. I've checked
the services and ensured that the proper services are running.
I updated the fax card drivers, the fax line isn't an issue since it
works
fine with a dedicated fax machine also receiving ok. I made sure that the
outgoing routing rule was pointing to my modem device. Tried changing
baud
rates down, also changing the print processor data type from raw to emf
also text.

Any help would be greatfully received!

Basically, error "No Answer" signifies that receiver is not answering, and
if there is an issue in sending side it would give you "No dial tone" error
message.

So you can check,
1. Control panel | PhoneAndModem options to see if the outgoing
telephone settings are made proper.

2. In Fax console, select the sent fax, right click to open its
properties, you should be able to see the actual device used for sending fax

3. You can work with Fax MVP RussValentine,
(e-mail address removed), to turn on T30 debug logs
