W2k3 DC in W2k AD

Is there any considerations in implementing a w2k3 DC (new server) in a w2k AD ?
Should DC with any special FSMO role be upgraded first ?

I know i have to do /forestprep and a /domainprep first.
 
Bjarne,

While I have not yet done this I am not aware of any problems. You will,
however, need to run adprep /forestprep on the WIN2000 DC that holds the
Schema Master FSMO Role and then run adprep /domainprep in each of the
existing domains in your environment.

Maybe someone can add their experiences to advise Bjarne ( and everyone
else! ) of anything of interest.

Also of note.

If you have a RIS server, that is the recommended first 2k3 DC in the
environment.

You may want to get other opinions, but I would demote
your secondary DC to members and than upgrade your DC
with any special FSMO roles? When it is your sole DC in
the domain. Remember to backup!

Than upgrade and than promote your memebers back to DC's

Good suggestion, but not possible.
We have far mor than just a couple of DC's - spread all over the world.
