My Network is as follows:
Ethernet TCP/IP Peer to Peer
3 PCs are Win98SE w/NIC 100Mbps
3 PCs are W2k Pro w/NIC 100Mbps
Connected via CAT5e RJ45 cable from each PC to a
Broadband Router 100Mbps w/Built-in Switch.
DSL Modem connected to WAN link of Router.
NOTE: All PCs have only the following components defined
(no other protocols):
1. TCP/IP bound to NIC
2. Client for Microsoft Networks
3. File & Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
One Win98SE PC acts like a File Server holding all
Database files for the following software (all are peer
network versions):
1. QuickBooks Pro 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003
2. ProSeries 2000, 2001, 2002
3. Time Tracking (TraxTime)
Problem: Proseries has always taken very long to
load and open the main data screen but with W2K Pro
requesting Proseries the time is "unbelievable".
Win98SE <<== Proseries ==>> Win98SE File Server (25 sec)
W2k Pro <<== Proseries ==>> Win98SE File Server (10 Min)
Any ideas or suggestions? All Help would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you.
