One of my machines was not turned off properly. Now when the machine
(W2K Pro)is started the system will POST, then show the W2K pro
startup screen (blue bars at bottom), then the window opens that "W2K
is starting up", a few moments later the windows is "prepering network
connections" a wait(80 seconds) then the screen turns blue with ONLY
the mouse arrow showing. The mouse does move.
Boot into safe mode takes more than five minutes. The normal safemode
screen does NOT appear. Press Control-Alt Delete and select task
manager shows no applications running, Performance shows 100%,
processes show svchost.exe at 99.
I have let this run for 24 hours with no apparent change. This
machine is setup under NTFS. My question is how or what could I use
to boot the system and delete 'svchost.exe' or would this not solve my
problem?
Thank you in advance !!
