I am re-installing W2K pro. I have loaded all the drivers
for the different hardware. Bootup is extremely slow. I
enabled boot logging and discover that there is a whole
bunch of "Did not Load" messages. Is there a way I can
make windows not to try to load these drivers which is
what seems to be causing the startup delay. Thanks.

1. Go to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services

2. Find the drivers that you do not wish to load (make sure you write down
there names)

3. Set these drivers to a START value of 4. (4 means disabled, you will
want to write down the previous settings)

4. Exit out of regedit and reboot.

Be aware that doing this can put your system into an unstable state. Use
the Last Known Good configuration if you are unable to boot after doing
this.
