I'm about to create two W2K stand alone servers. In
about 6 months I might have to move them to one domain
and make a new Active Directory in the process. Is it
possible to make these two servers on the same subnet
part of a new Active Directory later with out having to
completly reload server on each of the stand alone
servers?

Thanks a million in advance
John

John,

Thank you for your post.

You will be fine with that scenario. Having the two servers be "stand
alone" servers (I assume this is a workgroup type setting) is fine until
you want to create your new Active Directory domain (AD) environment. When
you do decide to create the AD you will just need to run the "dcpromo"
command to begin the process. Luckily since you have a few months before
this happens you can plan it out and watch your servers to make sure they
are operating normally before doing this.

Best regards,
Blane Clark
