Do you mean the Schema Master? This is one of the five FSMO Roles. It is
one of the two Forest-wide roles ( the Domain Naming Master being the
other ).
By default, it is - as are all five roles - located on the first DC in the
Forest. All of these FSMO roles can be held by one Domain Controller at a
time. Think about that for a second. It would lead to chaos if it were
possible for multiple DCs to hold the same FSMO Role.
I would suggest that you do a search on google or microsoft.com for
information on the five FSMO Roles. It will be good reading.
