I am running a Windows Server 2003 SE stand alone server to provide
broadband Internet access using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) to a
number of workstations and a server. The Windows XP and ME workstations
obtain the IP address from the ICS DHCP 'server' and are able to access the
Internet without any problems. The server, which is Windows 2000 SP4 server
cannot obtain an IP address from the ICS DHCP 'server' and so gets an apipa
address.
When I add a static address in the 192.168.0.0/8 subnet the Windows 2000
server cannot ping any workstation or the ICS box on the subnet nor can it
be pinged from any workstation or the ICS server.
Any thoughts on why this might be happening would be much appreciated.
