I am investigating a Windows 2000 Pro problem that appears
on the surface as though something is returning the
computer to a restore point. I am operating under the
assumption for now the computer is infected with a virus,
as NAV reports defs from 11/2001, but I don't trust
anything I'm seeing. Trend housecall failed to run, and
the system seems to restart on it's own when I attempt to
scan the drive for viruses.
If these symptoms sound familiar to you, I'd appreciate
your input. Also, if there is a way to turn off system
restore on 2000, I've had a brain fart and can't find
it... so a tip here would also be appreciated.
