I don't know if this is the correct group for this posting so please let
me know if it should be posted elsewhere.
My Brother-in-law in Canada is trying to help a friend with an older
computer she was given with Win2K Pro installed. There was originally
no logon required for a couple of years. The computer was a donation
from a friend of her daughters who has since re-located to Cancun. When
she recently had some difficulties another friend who thought he could
help. His help has caused his name to appear as the User Name at logon
but he claims he did not do that nor did he create a password
requirement. She is now left with a system she can no longer log onto.
Is there a way to eliminate the passwords even if it means loosing
everything except the OS. When she receive the machine no OS software
came with it so it cannot be re-installed in that manner. Any help or
suggestions, reasonably targeted that is, would be appreciated.
