I have an "OEM" ver. of W2K pro; I have the lic. etc.. I
just got another new mobo, this is the second, which is
having a problem with the EHCI USB 2 installation. Many
calls, to tech where the mobo came from, leads them to
now think that there is a probelm with the version of
windows that I have. Two different boards, same problem.
How can I get another copy of W2K Pro.. The place I bought
the software from is no help.

although i;m sure you could find an non-oem version on ebay
are you sure you have the correct drivers for USB2
the mfg of the board should be able to provide them

I'll agree. USB 2.0 won't work with 2K until the correct drivers get
installed. What, exactly, is the problem with the installation?

Hi Rick,

I have found numerous problems with manufacturer supplied USB 2.0 drivers. Don't use 'em. Go to the Microsoft catalogue site (not
windows update) and get the official Windows 2000 USB 2.0 drivers. Do a clean install of Windows 2000 and use the Microsoft supplied
drivers and no others. If you know how to completely remove all traces of the existing drivers (a simple uninstall will NOT do),
then you can avoid the reinstall of Windows.

If you can't locate the Mocrosoft catalogue site, send me an email and I'll send the drivers to you. The .zip file is only 114K.
