Yes they do and you can manage Group Policy from a XP Pro domain member
machine to get the extra settings that XP allows. See the lonk below for
details. --- Steve
I'm glad someone asked. We have a 2K server, and I am trying to use the XP
Group Policies to control the XP machines on the domain. I can "upgrade" the
existing policies, but I don't get all the new, additional policies. When I
try to use "local" instead of "Browse", I get the additional policies, but
then it asks me where to save it, and I don't know where. It seems no matter
where I save it, it cannot be linked to the 2000 OU. Any thoughts?
I was able to do it as described in the KB link. However you can only manage XP
configuration settings from an XP Pro domain member and you must be logged onto that
machine as a domain administrator. The saving part that you are talking about is not
the GPO settings but saving the actual mmc console that you create to manage the
GPO. --- Steve
