Whenever the computer is started the NumLock is on until
about the 10th block in the "Windows 2000 is Starting Up"
splash screen (graphics screen not black screen). Then
the NumLock turns itself off somehow. The user who is
having this problem finds it somewhat disconcerting
because her password is all numbers.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Set the Reg_Sz string value of
"InitialKeyboardIndicators"="2"
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard
will set the numlock to "On" when no one is logged on. May need to restart
for effect.

Dave, shouldn't Windows be getting the default NumLock state
from the system bios?

Peter, check your user's system bios and make sure NumLock
is set to "on".
