I attempted to install W2K over XP. The XP networking
had gone bad and the user wanted W2K. The XP CD was also
damaged and refused to boot anymore.
The W2K install got as far as the first reboot. It makes
it to the boot selection screen on restart and attempts
to load W2K. The screen goes blank and then an error
message appears saying that there is a problem and to
refer to manual. (No joke, the message is useless)
The Win XP load attempt from the panel on reboot
indicates and unknown file is damaged.
I've attempted a recovery, but it makes no difference to
the W2K install.
How can I get the XP back to how it was, without a good
bootable XP CD? Or how can I get W2K working? All help
greatly appreciated!
