I've missing something easy..... I have read the articles
indicating that W2K DNS performance monitoring is
available in "System Monitor of the Performance Console".
I thought I had set that correctly, but I can't find the
counters to add.

Can someone give me the steps to set up and monitor TCP
queries at the DNS server to verify it's incrementing?

TIA
Steve

I believe that would be setting logging on the DNS server. WIthout a machine
in front of me, I can't recall the counters available, but you can go into
DNS properties, Adv tab and look at the logging actions available. You can
also make reg entries too:

198408 - Microsoft DNS Server Registry Parameters, Part 1 of 3:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=198408
will show you logging levels.

Parts 2 and 3 are linked in that article too (198409 and 198410).
