I have a w2k professional workstation that uses a modem
to dialup to a specific internet site. Once I make the
modem connection, I lose my LAN connection. Any
resolution to this issue?

You don't really elaborate on exactly what you mean by "lose my LAN
connection" but if you mean that you cannot connect to some LAN resources
then it's probably because you've got "Use default gateway on remote
network" enabled in the connectoid.

To disable the Use Default Gateway on Remote Network setting in the dial-up
connection item on the client computer:

1. Double-click My Computer, and then click the Network and Dial-up
Connections link.
2. Right-click the connection that you want to change, and then click
Properties.
3. Click the Networking tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) in the
Components checked are used by this connection list, and then click
Properties.
4. Click Advanced, and then click to clear the Use default gateway on remote
network check box.

Hope this helps,
