w2k AD and LM Authentication

Does a W2k AD-based domain in NATIVE MODE support basic
LM Authentication?

I was reading that DOS & Windows for workgroups clients
only support LM Authentication and not NTLM or higher.

Can anyone verify this?

Yes, it supports old LM authentication but you can dissable it.
