You'll want to either boot the Windows 2000 install CD-Rom or setup disks.
The set of four install disks can be created from your Windows 2000 CD-Rom;
change to the \bootdisk directory on the CD-Rom and execute makeboot.exe
(from dos) or makebt32.exe (from 32 bit) and follow the prompts. When you
get to the point, choose the unallocated space on drive1 for the install.
(note: if it's an OEM install CD-Rom from another computer then this install
is not legal and probably won't work anyway.)

| I'm not quite sure what you mean by "drive swapping", but
| here's the scenario. Originally one drive "C" w/98E;
| installed new hard drive, now designated "D" [of course,
| CD is "E"]. Would like to install W2000. I tried this
| before and when the screen appeared asking where to
| install 2000, I changed WINNT to D:\WINNT. When asked to
| restart, there were two options as to where to boot: 1.
| Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Setup or 2.
| Microsoft Windows 98. When I select #1, received
| message "Setup cannot continue because CD was not
| distributed with computer". At that point, I was unable
| to do anything else but CTRL-ALT-DEL. When message
| reappears, I can only select W98. This is why I'm
| restarting the process. When I tried the 3 boot disks,
| it states it's copying files. THIS MADE ME NERVOUS
| BECAUSE I'M THINKING IT 'S COPYING THE FILES TO MY "C"
| DRIVE -- which is what I don't want. Please keep in mind
| that "C" (W98SE) is my boot drive (Primary, Master)
| and "D" is Secondary, Master. Thanks again in advance!
