Hi People,

I wonder if anyone can help, I noticed on three servers
here that files keep appearing called

_vxfiVspCacheFile_0.tmp
_vxfiVspCacheFile_1.tmp
_vxfiVspCacheFile_2.tmp

I've never noticed them before, and wondered if they were
being created by some funky Cpq/hp driver, or a windows
update.

My concern is are these files being created because of
some pending failure or are they just nothing to worry
about.

Many thanks,

Raga

My brother just came accross the same issue on one of his Veritas
NetBackup servers. This is what Veritas said:

"As far as the VSPcachefile.tmp file, unfortunately it can not be
deleted or moved. A reboot is the only way to get rid of it that I
know of. This has been an issue with VSP. Normally it is caused by a
Anti Virus program holding on to our VSP virtual drive which causes
the VSP process to not be able to remove the cache file after the
backup."

Hope this help,
Brad

Hi People,

There is a way to delete those files besides reboot. You can ru
filemon, process explorer or handles to find out what keep those file
handle open. And then close the handle and you should be able to delet
them.

I just had the same problem and I was able to find out that SYSTEM i
the process to hold the open handle with those temp files and I clos
all the open handles by using process explorer. Then I was able t
delete them.
