Hello,

I'm using the Coolscan 9000 on a PC and am on the point of purchasing
Vuescan.

After running a few tests everthing seems to be working ok, but on
clicking the color tab I notice that there are no options available
for setting the color space, ICC profile and IT8 data, although there
is reference to these settings in the users guide.

Is this normal when using a 9000 & the latest version of Vuescan or is
there something I haven't switched on.

If anyone can shine some light on this it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Vince.

You haven't purchased the professional version of vuescan, that's your
problem ;-) Calibration is only available there whereas the demo version
is the standard one.

Vince,

I'm not sure what is available under the test version, but in the working
version -

1. I think the default is that Scanner color space is set to "Built in".
Pick the drop down and you will get the option to select ICC profile.

2. Equally, if you select either Slide film or Color negative under Media
under the Input tab, then the option of "Built in" or "ICC profile" will
appear under the Color tab.

The ICC profiles will need to be set up yourself (but I can recommend Wolf
Faust as a source).

All told there are options for Monitor, Scanner, Printer, and Film profiles
under the Color tab, should you want to use them.

Choosing "Image" under Input media will remove the film icc options, but
scanner etc will remain.

Thanks Mark and Marcus.
Time to spend the money I think, on what seems to be something far
superior to Nikonscan.
