I'm trying it out.
Epson 4870 scanner.
I've built a computer to run PhotoShop manipulating big
files. 4GB fast ram. Windows 2000 sees 2,7 of it.
At the momemt I have;
Available physical memory
2,353,932kb
Available virtual memory
21,064,760kb
That should be enough, even to scan a 4x5 negative to make a
file just under 2GB. I do this with the Epson software.
But when I attempt to preview - not scan, preview - a 4x5
negative, I get the message that "unable to allocate 1816
MBytes of memory. Try increasing the amount of virtual
memory." Then it tries, and fails, to make a preview.
I'd like to make this software work. I scaned one 35mm
transparency and the scan was significantly better than the
Epson software scan.
What do I do?
Thanks,
Larry Jones
