my mac has been acting weird anyway lately, after having the HD
replaced recently, then having OS X.2 re-loaded. However, I downloaded
Vuescan after the new HD was put in, when I discovered that I could
not scan from my old hp ScanJet 4c into Photoshop, which I had always
been able to do in OS 9.2. So Vuescan was initially a godsend.
Until recently, when Vuescan started acting really oddly, with no
ability to alter the preferences (or even access them), and all the
text in the scan window being jumbled and unnavigatible/unusable. Very
frustrating. No matter how many times I delete the .ini file and
re-download/reload Vuescan on my computer, the problem persists. Also,
the scan window doesn't show much of the image, it's all "stuck"
underneath the menu bars on the left hand side. I am able to scan
things, still using the new controls, but it's all guesswork, until I
open the file in Photoshop. The crop is often acompletely off kilter,
and I have to rescan the images multiple times.
This is terribly frustrating ,as I am an artist who uses his
scanner/photoshop virtually daily.
Any ideas here?
I am sending an email to Ed at Hamrick.com, but I thought I'd see if
anybody else has experienced a similar problem
Thanks
