I'm planning on going to photokina in Cologne, Germany,
arriving on Thursday afternoon and leaving on Saturday
afternoon. There's more info about photokina at:

http://www.photokina.de/ (German)
http://www.koelnmesse.de/wEnglisch/photokina/index.htm (English)

It might be fun to meet up with other photokina
attendees to discuss VueScan, and if there's
any interest, I'd like to do this on Thursday
at 7:30 PM for an hour or so in the Radisson SAS
hotel lobby.

You can find a map to the hotel at:

http://www.radissondestinationguide.com/locationMap.process/OID_EB39EA2D/?hotelCode=CGNZR

Please let me know by e-mail if you're planning on
coming.

Regards,
Ed Hamrick

As I mentioned in another thread, I wrote a book about

"Digitale Dunkelkammertechnik" (Digital Darkroom Techniques)

that will be presented at the Photokina. You can meet me at the
dpunkt.verlag
on Thursday at 4:00 PM at Messehalle 10.1, Stand E-012.

My book describes a color management workflow based on OpenSource and
Shareware products. The main products for this workflow are Picture
Window Pro, VueScan and Qimage and of cause the lcms-tools.

Link to the publisher, where you can download the
- The table of contents
- Part of Chapter 6 about masks (belongs to the Picture window part)

Great idea, but... we just were there! I wish I could
go to the Photokina, considering all the great novelties
from Nikon and Canon, but the reality is different.

I wish I would knew earlier about the plan, maybe we
would have postponed our trip a tad...
