hi,
sorry for the cryptic subject, but its close.
after much head banging I think I've narrowed this down to some
type of memory related issue.
problem: imaged is scanned with cleaning enabled, but the resulting
saved image does not always reflect the cleaning, its just the un-
retouched scan. When looked at on screen using the 'scan' tab the
filter is always reflected.
I am doing medium and large format scans.
I have found that I can scan 4x5's at up to 600 dpi and 6x7 up to 1200
and things work as expected.
I have 2GB physical and 2GB swap. In watching vuescan thru the taskman,
even at 2400 dpi on the 4x5 negative I do not hit the physical memory
limit - peaking out around 1.4GB in use (which is not all vuescan). The
tif files are about 290MB.
The scanner is an Epson 4870 on Win XP SP2.
Is this just some inherent limitation with vuescan?
thanks for your help/advice.
