With new 8.3.23 Vuescan version, after scan, Photoshop CS2 (default
viewer and editor) opens but no image is opened... Do I miss a new
option ?

Same here with PS CS. It used to be that the 1st image wouldn't open but
subsequent images would. Now none of the scanned images do, so I send them
to IrfanView, then open in PS when I'm ready to adjust them. A workaround,
but what the heck - for me Vuescan is worth it, and often I don't do the
adjusting right after the scan anyway. Plus it saves memory and CPU for
Vuescan more so than PS would (yes, I have an older PC).

That happened to me once when I had the automatic file naming set up
wrong -- don't remember what I did, but it wasn't writing the file.
That's at least that's one place to check.

My problem is different, and apparently like Sansame's: the image file is
in fact written to the hard drive. It just doesn't automatically open in
PS.

Go to PREFerenceS, check EXTERNAL VIEWER or EXTERNAL EDITOR, choose your
flavor.
Doesn't the User Guide cover this? I don't know, I just push sliders to
see what happens.

That I know, and my settings were as you suggest. But the last time I used
it (haven't used the current version yet) PS would open, but the image would
not open in it. It is/was a glitch in Vuescan, but I can live with it.

I confirm that my cas is the same as yours : défault viewer and défaut
editor are both Photoshop CS2 in my Vuescan.
Last week, I sent a support message to Ed (with my Vuescan log
file...). We didnt find any correction. He thinks it il an OS problem
and not an Vuescan bug. But, olders Vuescan versions opened images
OK...

Since Ed suspects an OS problem, what OS are you fellows running?
