Use the "Prefs|Option panel width" option.

Look on the Prefs tab for the "Options panel width". Default is 280
here, don't know that for other systems...
 
Thanks, ED. The options works only to a certain point. I was
hoping to be able to make the column wide enough to show all of the
options at the same time, but it maxes out at about 399 or so.

Ed,

This no longer works correctly (v8.1). The window maxes out in width
around 320 and will not go wider than that. As such all controls are
not shown. It used to work OK before the UI enhancements.
