VueScan 8.0.1 color

I've been using VueScan for a number of years - since early in its life. I
just upgraded to 8.0.1 and color has gone down the tubes. I get very garish,
contrasty distorted color - totally unusable. The image looks like a '60's
poster. I am scanning with a SprintScan 120 which works great with
SilverFast and Polaroid software. I tried the IT8 calibration with VueScan
and got the same awful results as with regular scans. My monitor is
calibrated (several years successful use) with Optical and spyder (images as
usual with the other scanning programs). There are two older versions of
ViewScan stored in other directories on this machine but they have been
renamed. I have repeatedly deleted the .ini file. I've tried every
combination of color profile that I can think of and every brightness and
color setting (changing these settings only make varying color and
brightness of the crap.

The scanner is FireWire. It is the only FW device on the system. There is an
old HP film scanner connected as well as an old HP flatbed - both SCSI. They
have been here with no problems with older versions of ViewScan.

Does anyone have any experience with this or any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

A thought:
1] You pooched the download and you should delete it and try again.
